About Ranikhet
Ranikhet, often called as Queen of Uttaranchal, is a small cantonment located in the Kumaon Hills, only 60 kms from Nainital. Ranikhet, meaning “Queen’s Meadow” in English is named after Kumaoni Queen, Padmini. It is believed that the Queen fell in love with Ranikhet’s greenery and her
husband King, Raja Sukhdev built a grand palace for her.
